In the twenty years we have been in our mews studio, Marylebone has undergone an amazing metamorphosis into one of W1′s primary but still somewhat secret locations. This is thanks to Howard de Walden Estates’ development of the neighbourhood, which carefully set out to retain its village appeal. This Spring a wave of new arrivals affirm Marylebone’s destination status, adding to the cultural and gastro experience it has become renowned for. Andre Balzas’ amazing restoration of the stunningly beautiful Grade II Victorian gothic fire station, The Chiltern Firehouse, opened quietly in February. We love its vibrant, eclectic atmosphere as well as Nuno Mendes’ international take on classic American cuisine and can’t wait to try the garden terrace for tea. The first UK branch of world-renowned patisserie phenomenon Patisserie des Reves has also opened just around the corner from our mews and Philippe Conticini’s couture-style cakes are a sore temptation! In late Spring, Corbin & King will also open Fischers on the high street. We anticipate it will draw on the iconic style of The Wolseley in its blend of early 1900s Vienna and Parisian café culture. We are spoilt for choice and give a warm welcome to our esteemed new neighbours!
