We loved the new designjunction venue; the former Central Saint Martins building where Channels Design were showcasing incredible new furniture designs to celebrate their 20th Anniversary. Another highlight included the Channels founder and master craftsman Samuel Chan's engaging and passionate seminar about furniture design and creation through collaboration in the old theatre with fellow Joined + Jointed designers Simon Pengelley, Rod Wales and Alex Hellum.
It was great to see so many cutting edge brands and newer labels at the shows. Other highlights from designjunction included the Arturo Alvarez “emotional lighting”, whose show stopping installations created an atmospheric glow. Tylko, a new tech brand, just launched from Poland allows you to design, customise and visualise designer furniture through its app and shows the increasing technological influence emerging in the industry.
The creativity on show throughout the festival reinforced London as the centre of modern design, and we are already looking forward to what LDF 2016 has in store!
